On the occasion of Kamarajar's birthday celebrations, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Ashok Nagar branch, honoured P. Padma, headmistress of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, T. Nagar, for producing centum results in her school. It also felicitated students who scored centums in various subjects.
Many groups have come forward to help the students. G. Bhaskaran, Geetha Educational and Charitable Trust, distributed free uniforms and study materials to the poor students.
S. Sridhar, an industrialist and a committee member of the Parishad, took care of the educational expenses of 10 poor children of the school. V. Sankar gave mementos to the teachers. The members of Lions Club of Madras South City distributed cash prizes to the three rank holders of 10th standard.
Kalyani Nagarajan sponsored the cash award. Revathy presented a DVD player to the school. Mohana, president of the Club has promised to sponsor cleaning material every month for the school.
