MGM Beach Resorts, Muttukadu, (Ph: 044-27472129) is seeing 30 per cent increase in tourists this year, according to its GM, Sunil Tandon. It is offering a summer weekday package of Rs. 6,999 for one night and two days in a club suite for a couple and weekend package at Rs. 14,999 for two nights and three days. The offer is valid till June 30. The package includes free entry to MGM Dizzee World, transportation to Crocodile Bank, Muttukadu Boat House and Dakshin Chitra. Buharis Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, Neelankarai, (Ph: 044-24490121/ 64526002/ 24491425) spread across 10-acres of natural lush green trees, big garden and a wide lawn, offers a magnificent view of the sea. “We are offering 10-15 per cent discount for tourists. Only families are permitted to stay in our resort. We have rooms from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,500,” says C. Yuvaraj, Executive, Accounts and Administration.
The resort has a restaurant, landscaped gardens, swimming pool, children's play area, cricket ground, volley ball court, football ground and shuttle courts. The Cascade-Natural Looking Waterfalls is another attraction of the resort.

Its Summer Chiller Weekday Package, priced at Rs. 7,749 per night is available from Monday to Thursday. As part of this package, the resort offers room on a twin sharing basis with complimentary breakfast, 30 per cent discount on food and beverages, usage of all recreational facilities and free stay for children below 12 years.
Another weekday package for three-days and two nights at Rs. 12,999 is also available. This package includes complimentary super breakfast buffet at Waters Edge Cafe, children below 12 years enjoy a complimentary stay, 30 per cent discount on food and beverages, per cent discount at the Ayurvedic Centre and Serena Spa, special deals on Catamaran rides into the sea, ATV rides into the woods, etc. The weekend package is priced at Rs.14,999. It includes room on twin sharing basis with complimentary breakfast. It includes all the features of a one-day package.

Vivanta by Taj - Fisherman's Cove, Kovalam, (Ph: 044-6741 3333) is another option which has luxury cottages set on the palm-fringed beach. The resort has Superior Charm Room, Superior Charm Sea View Room, Deluxe Delight Cottage Garden View and Deluxe Delight Rooms. “The summer offer is for a minimum stay of two-nights for a couple. It includes breakfast, a spa meal and spa treatments. The rates are the same for weekday and weekend offers,” says Karuna Amarnath, PR Manager-Chennai, Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces. The offer is valid up to September 30.
Ideal Beach Resort, Mahabalipuram, (Ph: 044-27442240 / 443) is offering an exclusive summer package for two nights and three days at Rs.9,999. The package includes accommodation at Standard Cottage on twin sharing basis. The offer is valid till June 30.
Kailash Beach Resort, Injambakkam, (Ph: 044-2449 0518) is offering Weekend Family Packages for one-night and two days for a family of four consisting of a couple and two children at Rs. 4, 999 including all facilities.
