K.V. Ramamurthy is a study in self-reliance. He is 91 years old, but would not let anybody else wash his clothes. He also does the dishes. He has so much to give others too. He engages and entertains his great-grandchildren by playing indoor games and sharing experiences from his life with them. He is also in the habit of writing a diary. He also maintains an album where he has pasted photos of his loved one who are no more.
K.V. Ramamurthy believes contentment can contribute immensely to health and happiness. “I didn’t have a handsome bank balance when I retired. I was a sales manger at Tata Oil Manufacturing Company,” says Ramamurthy, a resident of Kottur Gardens. He considers himself very fortunate to have all his children living close by. “I live with my son and daughter-in-law. I have four daughters who also live near by. My sister also lives near my place. They all come here every evening to have a chat. ” he adds.
