After a slew of successful films in the South, UTV Motion Pictures announced its next Tamil venture recently. Sigaram Thodu with Vikram Prabhu in the lead will be directed by Gaurav of Thoonga Naragam fame. The film that rolls out in April is expected to hit the screens in December.

“It’s an action entertainer that revolves around a father-son relationship,” says the director, who has apparently worked on his script for almost a year. “To me, script is all. Unless I’m completely satisfied with the script I can’t start work.”

For Gaurav who handled a Madurai-based subject in Thoonga Nagaram , this one is a drastic change since it is set in Chennai. “We have also spotted a couple of virgin locations in the country to shoot some portions. Since the film examines the conflict between two generations, everyone who watches it will be able to relate to it. And yes, it does have some autobiographical elements.”
