What it is about…
Chennai Cinema India presents 555 , produced by S. Senthil Kumar and C. Chitti Babu, and written and directed by Sasi. Saravanan Abimanyu has cranked the camera; Simon has scored the music and Na. Muthukumar has penned the lyrics. The film features Bharath, Santhanam, Manobala, Suresh Berry, Rajbharath, Mrithika, Yarikka Fernandes and Lakshmi. The audio of the film was released by director Shankar and received by actor Dhanush. An action thriller, 555 has loads of romance and sentiment in it.
Music highlights
The album consists of seven songs of which ‘Kadhal Indha Kadhal,’ sung by Sathyaprakash and Kalyani, is the best. ‘Saregama,’ written by BSK, is a short Hindustani number by Sathyaprakash. ‘Vizhiyile Vizhiyile’ sung by Haricharan, Chinmayi and Blaaze with additional voices by Kalyani, Ramya NSK and Krish is good. ‘Mudhal Mazhai Kalam’ in Deepak Doddera’s voice is pleasant to listen to, while ‘Rowdy Girls,’ sung by Preethika, Ramya NSK, Sheeba Truman and Srividhya, has some beautiful lines in English by Sheeba Truman. ‘Elavu,’ sung by Simon, is sure to go down well with the masses. ‘Ghani Khamma’ is a short number written by Noel Rodrigues and Heena D and sung by Meghana Dandekar.

Producers S. Senthil Nathan and C. Chitti Babu: We were in the construction business and Spectrum Mall, located in Perambur, is ours. We co-produced Hello and Parthaen Sirithaen. Keen on making our own production, we approached director Sasi. We liked the storyline he narrated and went ahead with the project. As expected, the film has come out well — a complete entertainer.
Director Sasi: This is my fifth film. Three of my earlier films were urban-based and one, a village theme. They are Sollamale, Roja Kootam, Dishum and Poo . I wanted to take up a different subject this time and hence an action thriller. As I am new to this genre, I took a lot of pains to do it well. On the dais at the audio release function, director Shankar said the trailer of 555 was of the same standard as Anniyan and Ghajini. Those words encouraged me. 555 will show Bharath in a not-before-seen avatar.
Hero Bharath: This is my 23rd film in which you will see a bubbly Bharath. This role required me to get a six-pack for which I was put on a strict diet of egg white and boiled chicken for almost a year. I started having rice two weeks ago, only after winding up the shooting for 555 . I have worked for nearly two-and-a-half years on the film, but director Sasi has worked on the subject for nearly four years. The screenplay is highly suspenseful and I am sure there won’t be any dull moment for the audience sitting through the film. Music director Simon: I have composed more than a hundred jingles. I did a demo CD for director Sasi. After listening to the songs, he called me up to say that he liked the ‘Elavu’ number and booked me as the music director for 555 . The whole unit praised me not only for the songs but also for the re-recording. It was a learning experience for me and I am thankful for the director and the producers who gave me the opportunity.
