Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is set to return for another mission as he will star in ’Mission: Impossible 4’.

Paramount Studios have confirmed that Cruise will act in the film produced by J.J. Abrams, who directed the third instalment in the super spy action franchise, Access Hollywood reported online.

“Tom and JJ are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to re-launch this legendary franchise,” Paramount Pictures Chairman and CEO Brad Grey said in a statement.

The task ahead now is to find a director for the film which will be released in 2011.

The 47-year-old actor first portrayed secret agent Ethan Hunt for the original ‘Mission: Impossible’ film in 1996, followed by two more sequels.

Cruise recently finished shooting for spy action film ’Knight and Day’ opposite Cameron Diaz, which is slated to hit theatres on July 2010.
