What is your idea of happiness?

Being myself…especially when I’m let loose.

What is your greatest fear?

Losing a family member.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’m very punctual. I wish I could change this about myself because most people around me are not. They call me a ‘time bomb’.

If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?

Nothing, really.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My fans.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?

I want to keep coming back as Hansika.

What is your idea of misery?

Being thirsty…life without water.

Where would you like to live?

I keep going to New York every year for 20 to 25 days. I love it there, but I can’t imagine settling in any place other than India.

What is your favorite occupation?

Even before I could think of becoming a dentist or a doctor I’d already become an actor. So I never had the chance to think of another profession.

What is your most marked characteristic?

Honesty.

What is the quality you most like in the opposite sex?

Probably, their chivalry.

What do you most appreciate in your friends?

Loyalty.

Who are your favourite authors?

Don’t have any. I don’t read books.

Who is your favourite hero of fiction?

Every good movie I watch, the hero becomes my favourite. I start blushing every time a hero romances a heroine.

Who are your heroes in real life?

Too many to name. Don’t want to give you clichés.

What are your favourite names?

You might think I’m demented but I love the name Hansika. I keep thanking my mom for my name. I joke that I’d be tempted to name my daughter Hansika as well.

What is your present state of mind?

Hmmm…I’m thinking about how this interview has taken long and how I might not make it on time for lunch.

How would you like to die?

I believe I’m going to live till I’m a hundred. I want to die in my sleep, peacefully.

What is your favourite motto?

I’m the YOLO (You Only Live Once) type. So it’s now or never.

The Proust Questionnaire is a feature which derives its name from the French writer Marcel Proust, whose personality-revealing responses to these questions went on to popularise this form of celebrity confession.
