Neha Sharma is not only about short skirts and skin show and with Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 ( YPD2 ), this girl from Bhagalpur, Bihar, is out to show her mettle. While she has mainly had skimpy roles in the past whether in her debut Crook (2010), Kya Supercool Hain Hum (2012) or Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story earlier this year, she is optimistic that YPD2 will change that perception.
“I am keeping my fingers crossed that I hit bulls’ eye with this one. Especially because in spite of being an all-out Deols film the characters of the girls are also well-defined. Of course, there is no way you can take away from the Deol trio but I think when people are going to come out of the theatres, they will definitely wonder who that girl was?” smiles Neha.
The actor plays Suman in the film and she is cast opposite Bobby Deol. “I am a totally crazy Salman Khan fan in the movie and so is Bobby. Actually, even in real life! I We meet due to a fight over a life-size Salman poster! Even her idea of romance is fully filmy. Bobby and I have shot for a Salman-style song in the movie. It’s the first time I have got a chance to do some zany comedy and it was great fun. Suman brings on the laughs in the film,” she says.
Working with the Deols did not maker her nervous as she had anticipated, she confesses. “ I am new to the industry and the Deol brothers and Dharamji have been around for many years. In fact, the first day of shoot was an emotional scene between Dharamji, Bobby and me and I was a bundle of nerves. But the two put me at ease and it turned out to be very smooth and much more intense than I had thought. Among the three, it is Bobby who is the shy sort! Dharamji is very entertaining and even Sunny is outgoing and laughs all the time,” she says.
