All in the family

Prem Kumar has achieved the unique distinction of having acted with all the members of a particular family.

“When I start work with Suriya for Singam 3, it will be a first of sorts for me. In 1996, Sivakumar played my father in Naattupura Paattu. I went on to act with Karthi in Biriyani and Jyothika in 36 Vayadhinile,” says Prem Kumar.

He is presently awaiting the release of two films. “In director Premsai’s Tamizhselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum starring Jai, I play the villain. In director Prabhu Solomon’s untitled film, I play a military captain.”

Chennai connection

∝Cinematographer K. V. Guhan is basking in the laurels that are coming his way, following his work in Bangalore Naatkal. Guhan made his Bollywood debut with S.J. Suryah’s Khushi, and later went on to direct Inidhu Inidhu; but he found it rather tiring to do justice to both roles. “Hence, I decided to focus on cinematography, and did films such as New and Mozhi. After this, I got many assignments in Tollywood, and ended up working in five films starring Mahesh Babu. But I was always yearning to return to Kollywood, and Bangalore Naatkal gave me that opportunity,” says Guhan, a protégé of ace cinematographer P. C. Sreeram and brother of director Saran.
