Award-winning filmmaker D. Bijukumar is getting behind the camera for his new film Perariyathavar. Starring Suraj Venjarmoodu and Indrans, the movie, which goes on the floor on October 9, narrates the tale of two Corporation cleaners.

He says it is the story of the marginalised in society as seen through the eyes of the two men who clean the streets. It will also touch upon current socio-political issues.

“The film will be shot in Kollam and its suburbs. The Adivasi Colony in Peppara will be a major location,” says Biju. The movie is being produced by Anilkumar Ambalakkara, who had produced Akashathinte Niram , Biju’s previous film, which is still making the rounds of various film festivals in India and abroad.

Nedumudi Venu and Krishnan are some of the actors in the cast. Of the two heroines, one will be enacted by Sajitha Madathil. “We are still finalising the cast,” says Biju.

M.J. Radhakrishnan is the cinematographer. Music will be scored by Issac Thomas Kottukapally.
