Taapsee reflects on her role in her next Tamil release, Kanchana -2.

With Kanchana-2, Taapsee Pannu says she has come a long way in Tamil films

A adukalam brought Taapsee Pannu to the notice of Tamil moviegoers. Arrambam cemented her place in the industry. “Being an Ajith-starrer, the film was a blockbuster,” says Taapsee. “My pairing with Arya proved great for my career. Before  Arrambam, I had done  Vandhaan Vendraan with Jiiva. Coming up is  Vai Raja Vai, with Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand. I have done a cameo which changes the course of the story.”

Since her debut in 2010, Taapsee has straddled the Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu film industries with ease. From IT professional to actor, it has been a smooth transition, with a short stint in between in the world of modelling.

Taapsee reflects on her role in her next Tamil release,  Kanchana -2. “This is my first time in the  Muni franchise. I feel my role will supersede the ones I have done so far. While I cannot reveal much, I can definitely say that it has been most challenging and satisfying to have worked for director Raghava Lawrence.”

Taapsee has done one big film in Malayalam:  Doubles, starring Mammootty. She is excited about the way her career is progressing in Hindi too. “I am happy with my performances in  Chashme Baddoor and  BabyBaby has been a game changer as far as my Bollywood career is concerned. I am about to start shooting for director Amit Roy’s  Agra Ka Daabra, in which I am paired with Ayushmann Khurrana. I’ve also acted in Amit’s I play a sardarni in this film, which is about a service that helps couples in love to elope and get married.”
