The race for Pongal release is heating up. There are two big films in the fray — “Kavalan” starring Vijay and Asin, directed by Siddiq, and “Siruthai” with Karthi and Tamannaah. Says actor Vijay: “‘Kavalan' is a mass entertainer.” Actor Karthi says: “I enjoyed working in the film, more so because it's my first in a dual role — a police officer and a thief.”
Director Prabhu Solomon's Christmas just got better — his latest “Mynaa” is going places. Says the director: “The Dubai Film Festival was a real eye opener, in that, it made me realise there was a huge market for Tamil films across the world that remains untapped. Also, I was overwhelmed at the appreciation I got there.” The director says his next film will be ready by next June, for director-producer Lingusamy, presented by Red Giant Movies.
Here's celebrating a film released 25 years ago — “Aan Paavam”. At the event, big names including Chennai Mayor M. Subramaniam, Vairamuthu, Bhagayaraj, Ameer, Sashi Kumar, Samuthirakani, Saran, ‘Jayam' Ravi, Manobala, Prabhu Solomon, R.K. Selvamani, Rajesh, Revathy, Santhana Bharathi and Ravivarman.While director-actor Ameer recalled watching the film holding his mother's hand, actor Revathy thanked Pandiarajan for the good laugh. The film's script was released as a book.
