Freshers all

YashRaj Films is sure going all the way to promote greenhorns. “Band Baaja Baaraat”, that released last week, has a debut director in Maneesh Sharma and fresh face Ranveer Singh as hero. We hear that Maneesh, who assisted on the sets of “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”, was responsible for casting newcomer Anushka Sharma as ‘Taani'. He handpicked Ranveer for “Band Baaja Baaraat” too. Now only if his film does well, it would be a great year-end for the flop-riddled YashRaj banner.

Staying positive

To many of us, Soha's career may not be exactly soaring but the girl herself seems quite oblivious to criticism from any quarters. Recently, she has been spotted promoting her next release, “Tera Kya Hoga Johnny”, and is quite content with the way her career is shaping up. She has been preparing for her next role in a film titled “Soundtrack” where she plays a DJ who loses her sense of hearing, but continues in her profession. Soha has learnt sign language for the film, and says that it is her toughest role ever.

Heart of gold

That's what hockey star Mir Ranjan Negi thinks Deepal Shaw has. The actor, who has lent support to Negi's ‘Abhi Foundation' that encourages young kids to play hockey, won over his heart when she was seen playing the game with dedication while rehearsing for one of her films. Since then, Negi swears by her sincerity.
