Yami Gautam

Language no bar

News from the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Gauravam ’s sets is that lead actress Yami Gautam has impressed everyone with her hard work. The actress, popular for her role in Vicky Donor , doesn’t know a single word of either language, yet is shooting simultaneously for both. We hear that she opted not to go for professional coaching to learn the languages but chose to sit with the film’s team and work on her lines instead. This girl from Himachal Pradesh then spoke her lines like a native speaker!

Bring on the tissues

Not much is known about Rajkumar Hirani’s Christmas 2013 film P.K. except that Aamir Khan has given his nod and the hunt is on for the second hero. But the actress zeroed in, Anushka Sharma, has hinted that the emotional connect in this one is going to be just as much as in the other Hirani films. The actress, who is increasingly becoming popular not just with the masses but also with filmmakers, recently confessed on Anupama Chopra’s TV show that she “cried when she heard the script.” Hirani had given her a script narration, she says, adding, “I have never visualised a script as vividly before.”

Inspired by Mili

The Ranbir-Priyanka starrer Barfi! in which Ileana D’Cruz is making her Bollywood debut, is less than two months away from release and Ileana’s look in the film is the talk of the town. The Telugu actress plays Shruti, an innocent and sheltered girl from Darjeeling. Since she will be seen over a span of time, the character has been given two different looks. The first half will have her wearing 70s-style skirts and dresses, and the latter half, where she plays a married woman, she will been seen in Dhakai saris. Her costume designer was reportedly inspired by Jaya Bhaduri’s look in Mili and Guddi .
