Meet the professional

Actor Rahul Dev suffered a huge loss last year with his wife’s death. But, stories abound about the professionalism of this man. He was shooting during this painful period for Vikram Bhatt’s “Shaapit”that released last week, and he would be on the sets all day only to return to the hospital at night. His wife had cancer and passed away when the shoot was still on. Shattered though he was, he picked himself up and resumed work within a few days, as he has a pivotal role in the film.

Bouncing controversy

Katrina and Salman were both caught on the wrong side of the media at different press meets last fortnight. At a function organised by politician-producer Smita Thackeray, one of Salman’s bouncers brushed aside a female TV journalist rather brusquely; she fell down and called him an idiot. Salman, who witnessed the scene, laughed asking if the profanity got recorded, much to everyone’s chagrin. Meanwhile, at the FICCI Frames, when one of Kat’s bouncers stepped on a female journo’s foot and she winced in pain, the actor took note of it and reprimanded her bouncer. Speaks volumes about character, no?

Outplaying others

Ranbir Kapoor, after having made a mark in brand Pepsi (remember he bowled out SRK from the campaign?) has now overthrown Hrithik Roshan from clothing brand John Players. In spite of a highly-anticipated Hrithik film coming this summer (“Kites”), John Players has decided to replace him with new-age Ranbir. Ranbir, on his part, has been humbly saying that he is just taking Hrithik’s and SRK’s legacy forward. Hah!
