Aiming for landmarks
This year he’s already given career-defining performances in Amen and Left Right Left . But you can’t help but agree when Indrajith says candidly “you ain’t seen nothing yet!” He’s of course referring to his role in the upcoming film Ezhamathe Varavu , which brings back the stellar combo of director Hariharan and litterateur M.T. Vasudevan Nair. “They’re a different school of filmmaking altogether. I had to unlearn whatever I knew about acting for the film and learn the craft from scratch. I left everything to Hariharan sir. My role in the film, Gopinath a.k.a. Gopi muthalali is a gun-slinging Wayanad-based planter – a throwback to the dictatorial landowners of the past. It’ll be a landmark role in my career,” says Indrajith.
Meanwhile, the actor is all set to fly to Namibia to film Vayalar Madhavan Kutty’s yet-untitled film, written by Jeyamohan, said to be about the trials of expatriates living in Africa. “I’m looking forward to my maiden trip to Africa. It’s another interesting role and the film sort of reflects on how the Africa tag makes it very difficult for prospective grooms to get a bride,” he adds.
