Say no to smoking
Statistics reveal that children whose parents or siblings smoke are around three times more likely to smoke than children living in non-smoking households. Info is that there has been a fall in smoking but most of those who have experimented with have become addicted to nicotine and continue to smoke into adulthood.
Thamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya, a short film, scripted and directed by Radhakrishna Warrier, probes how children get addicted and to spread the message of ill-effects of smoking.
“What the film tries to say is that goodness and values are imparted to children through their parents. When such avenues are closed children tend to wander into the world of vices. This film is the story of a group of such children,” says Radhakrishna Warrier.
The cast includes writer-scenarist-director-actor P. Balachandran, Sulu Boban, Shankar and a group of youngsters. Satish Kurup cranks the camera and music is by Jaison J. Nair.
The film is slated for June release.
