Now that Vishwaroopam has finally hit the theatres in Tamil Nadu, the question on everyone’s mind is ‘what next?’ Apparently, if everything goes well, Kamal Haasan will start work on Vishwaroopam 2. He’s also said to be discussing with friends a film titled Moo. It revolves around three people, all played by the actor himself. There’s speculation that the film could be a trilingual — in Tamil, Hindi and English. The English version is tentatively titled Triple Impact.

Another battle?

Close on the heels of the troubles faced by Vishwaroopam comes the news of issues that the film Karumpuli is facing. Believed to revolve around a young Indian fighting terrorism to protect his country, the film has run into trouble with the Censor Board. Set in Italy and Bangkok, the film’s directed by Parameshwar, who has six films to his credit. He says, “The release of the film is taking more time than it took me to shoot it. The film has no song (except the title number), no fights, no comedy or romance; it’s a story told as it happens in real life.” The film features Magesh, Rathan Mouli, Varsha K., Pande and Prachi Adikari.

Shake a leg

Even as Adalam Boys Chinnatha Dance (ABCD) has been creating quite a buzz as a dance 3D film, talks are on for ABCD 2. Asked if he would star in the second part too, actor Prabhu Deva, who was at the audio launch of ABCD, said he believed he would be approached for it. The second part is expected to be made on a bigger scale with more Bollywood actresses hoped to be roped in to shake a leg with Prabhu Deva.

Brigand tale

After Kuppi, director AMR Ramesh is ready with Tamil-Kannada bilingual (dubbed in Telugu) Vanayudham. About the film that talks about the forest brigand Veerappan, the director says “I did extensive research on the life of Veerappan for over 10 years; I took nearly a year to write the screenplay. Since his wife Muthulakshmi objected to a few scenes, I obtained the U certificate film after a long battle. This film will throw more light on the brigand’s life.”

While Kishore plays Veerappan, Arjun plays the police officer Vijayakumar and Vijayalakshmi plays Muthulakshmi.
