Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal is director Lal Jose’s 20th offering. After experimenting with different kinds of themes, story lines and genres he discloses his weakness for stories with a rural feel. That he, at best, is still a villager from Ottapalam.
His current film is a story about relationships and not a verdict on marriage. He says in good humour, “The moral of the story is - don’t lie to your fiancée or your wife, ever.”
Jose’s next venture Vikramaditya goes on to the floors in March. Scripted by Dr. Iqbal Kuttippuram, of Diamond Necklace fame, it has Dulquer Salmaan in the lead and Unni Mukundan.
The fit look
Murali Gopy is donning a new fit look. His role as a boxer in his latest film requires from him a certain “body language”. The actor says that he has been on a weight loss programme for the past four months. It is a tough call for him. “An actor needs to be presentable on stage, not beefcake exactly. If you are heavy, you are heavy for the audience too. I am not a gym person, am too lazy for that,” says Murali who has been on a low - carb diet. “Being a glutton, this is really tough on me.”
No holidays for Dileep
Dileep says that after working along with Lal Jose as assistant directors to Kamal, for five-and-a-half years, he became an actor by accident. “Lal and I were colleagues and shared a room for many years,” he said. Dileep grew philosophic about life in films on the set of his seventh joint venture with Jose. “Actors work hard; we have no holidays. We work from morning to midnight. There is no yesterday in cinema, today is tomorrow and the present is the future.”
