Shahid Kapoor may be doing fewer films but his charisma is unbeatable. The actor, who is currently shooting for the Rajkumar Santoshi film Phata Poster Nikla Hero with Ileana D’Cruz, took time off for a motor oil brand endorsement tour in various cities. All Shahid had to do was to meet mechanics. But on the actor’s insistence, this turned out to be much more interactive. The result was the actor dancing to Mithun Chakraborty’s numbers in Kolkata with the mechanics! We hear that when word spread about Shahid’s dance, the next batch of mechanics were ready to shake to his Kaminey song ‘Dhan Te Nan!’ While he did that, he even arm-wrestled with one of them.

The supernatural beckons

It may be small but it is a noticeable change. Writers nowadays seem to get acknowledgement for their work. Manoj Tyagi, for instance. He has won the National Award for Best Screenplay for Page 3 and Apaharan, and director Sudhir Mishra mentions his name whenever the story of Inkaar comes up. Now the man, who had also directed a film called Mumbai Salsa, is aiming to direct a bilingual Sakshat which will be a Bengali-Hindi supernatural thriller.

Ranbir bashful?

Did you know that Ranbir Kapoor is a shy guy? This past week, he confessed that at Anupam Kher’s forum for up and coming actors -- An Actor Prepares: Behind The Success. Ranbir said that his formula to overcome his shyness was only to allow the cameras to roll. Then he felt a sense of purpose as he had a job at hand, he revealed.
