A touch of royalty

Dhanush’s Bollywood debut, Ranjhanaa, is in the news once again. The Anand Rai film which also has Sonam Kapoor, got permission to shoot at the Royal Pataudi Palace in Haryana. Before this, the palace featured only in the Hollywood production, Eat Pray Love. We hear that Krishka Lulla of producers Eros International shares a good rapport with Saif Ali Khan and his family, and hence, the venue was made available for shooting. The filmmakers wanted to capture the imposing structure and its architecture for a few scenes with the lead actors.

Sleep over this!

Trust Naseeruddin Shah to choose the most unusual of roles. In his upcoming Sona Spa directed by theatre veteran Makarand Deshpande and produced by Miraj Entertainment, Naseer plays a Godman who sells sleep to a sleep-deprived generation. Naseer, as Baba Dayanand, has sleep workers who ‘sleep on the behalf of the people’ for a fee! Naseer was, in fact, at a media event called for World Sleep Day on March 15, and listed dozing off as one of his favourite pastimes. Joining the drive

Rhea Chakrobarty is understandably excited about her film Mere Dad Ki Maruti . The former MTV host has also done a Telugu film, Tuneega Tuneega, with Sumanth Ashwin. Rhea had reportedly auditioned for Band Baaja Baarat but got rejected as she was underage! We hear that the girl is already on her way to her next film — Rohan Sippy’s Sonali Cable.
