Fans of Mani Ratnam and A. R. Rahman might have to wait a bit longer to listen to the songs of Kadal . The audio of the film was to be launched today. However, sources in the music industry say the CDs may hit the stores in the first week of December. Similarly, Kamal’s team, which was originally considering the possibility of releasing the audio of Vishwaroopam on November 28, is now looking to push it to December 2. Says a source: “Discussions are on and these are the dates being considered.”

Meet composer Bhavatharini

Ace music director Ilaiyaraja’s daughter and singer Bhavatharini has now scored the music for a Tamil film, titled Vellachi .

Vellachi is the third Tamil film for which Bhavatharini has scored the music, the other two being Amirtham and Ilakkanam. She has composed the music for films in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi as well.

Point out to her that she will now be competing with her composer brothers Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Bhavatharini says with a smile, “It will be a healthy competition.”

Sanchita’s next Tamil film

Sanchita Shetty, who impressed audiences with her role in Kollaikaran , has signed her next Tamil film, Soodhu Kavvum , opposite Vijay Sethupathi.

A source close to the actor, who is popular in the Kannada film industry, says, “After Kollaikaran , Sanchita was waiting for an exciting script and she found the story of Soodhu Kavvum , being directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, extremely interesting. The film, which goes on floors next month, will see the actor play her dream role.”

A b’day gift

Fans of Rajinikanth have always considered his birthday, which falls on December 12, special, celebrating it with excitement year after year. This year, well-known production house AVM has chosen to present them with a unique gift on the occasion. It will re-release his film Sivaji , directed by Shankar, in 3D on his birthday. Prasad EFX has converted the 2D version of the film into 3D. The superstar, who is said to be impressed with the 3D version, believes it will be a roaring success.
