Actor Samantha is just completing the finishing touches for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s much-awaited film Neethaane En Ponvasantham. And, the actor can’t stop gushing about the experience. “I played the lead in the Telugu version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, and I’m sure Neethaane… will outshine that film with its realistic take on life. I play Nithya in Neethaane…, and this character will be talked about for a long time. I’m lucky to be playing such a role as it traverses four stages of life,” she says.

Thirukkural in a song

Though written many centuries ago, Thirukkural remains relevant even today. Not surprisingly, director Thanveer has used 10 couplets from Thirukkural for a song in his upcoming film Vijayanagaram . “The film is about education, and I realise that just like other fields, if education too revolves around money, it would be unfair to the future generation. I have used the couplets to convey this message, and it hopefully would reach the youngsters,” says the director. Produced by S.M.K. Company, the film’s music is by Arunagiri-R. Ragav.
