Tamil film directors are constantly on the lookout for beautiful places across the globe. Until now, Europe and the U.S. were among the most preferred destinations. However, that preference, it seems, has changed in recent times. China seems to have won the admiration of Kollywood directors.

First, ace filmmaker Shankar chose China to shoot a considerable portion of his film I. Director Sundar C too has announced he would be heading there to can a couple of songs for his Vishal-starrer MGR.

Last heard, director P.L.R. Ilankannan is to head to the country to film a couple of songs for his next film Adithalam, which will feature Mahesh (of Angaadi Theru-fame) in the lead along with newcomer Aarushi.

Game for ad shoots

Only a few film directors are comfortable making ads, and actor-choreographer-director Prabhu Deva is among them. Prabhu Deva, who only recently made his first advertisement seems to have taken a liking for it. In fact, he has now shot another ad with Salman Khan for a biscuit brand.

Says Prabhu Deva, “We shot the advertisement in Mumbai in just a day. Salman and I have worked in films before, and both of us enjoy working together because of the comfort level.” For his first ad, he worked with Virat Kohli. Needless to say, both are now good friends.

Social cause

Many Kollywood actors do their bit for society. The latest to join the list is actor Oviya — she has pledged her eyes. The actor, whose next film Sillunnu Oru Sandhippu is to hit the screens soon, recently pledged her eyes at the Mission Hospital in Kerala.

She says, “I was approached by the hospital and I realised that I would be doing my bit for society.” The actor tweeted, “I felt good after signing the (pledge) form.”

Let the music begin

Music director Vijay Ebenezer, who composed music for Kandaen and Kalakalappu , has signed his next project. He will be scoring music for Ya Ya , which will feature Santhanam and Shiva in the lead. It will be a romantic comedy directed by Rajasekhar, an associate of director Rajesh.
