Sharad KRG

Working with S. J. Suryah in the latter’s Isai has been a great experience for Sharad KRG (his first film was Maattrraan ). In the film, Sharad is business manager to Suryah who plays a music director. “Suryah has been multi-tasking in Isai , a musical thriller: as producer, director, music director and overall, controlling everything that happens on the sets. His energy levels are infectious. He puts you at ease and gives you a lot of freedom to improvise,” says Sharad, for whom, Isai is a big break. Give it to the youngster who ably juggles acting and his responsibilities as head of marketing for AGS’s multiplex division.

Rain and romance

His claim to fame is winning the Airtel Super Singer Season 2 in 2008. Following this, Ajesh Ashok debuted in the Tamil film Goa with the song ‘Idhu Varai’ which won a few awards. His song, ‘Thooral Thedum’ in Uthamaputhiran was well-received, too. ‘Idhazhin Oram’ for 3 has been in the top ten on the charts for some time. A secret desire of Ajesh was to make an independent music album to showcase both his composing and singing skills. Says Ajesh: “The time has just arrived for my dream to come true. I have worked day and night for the album, ‘Rain, College, Love – The Connect’ and am happy with the outcome,” says Ajesh. The rain song from the album, ‘Oh Mazhaiye’, has been getting repeated views on YouTube. “The concept of the album? I have always felt that there is a distinct connection between the rain, college and love and this is what I wanted to convey. My friend Raghav has written the lyrics for the five songs,” says Ajesh.

Life is not a game

Sharran Kumar (Inidhu Inidhu, Vadapoda Nanbargal ), whose Esaki is getting ready for release, is now part of the five-some cast of Charles Shafiq Karthiga ( CSK ). Director S. Sathiyamoorthy has cast Narayan and Vimal, both of whom debuted in Inidhu Inidhu , alongside Jai Quehaeni ( Arohanam ) and newcomer Mishal. “ Charles Shafiq Karthiga is based on the premise that life is not a game. What happens in the life of the three main protagonists during the course of one day/night forms the plot. CSK is a thriller which will keep the audience on the edge of their seats,” says Sathiyamoorthy who earlier worked as an assistant to K. V. Guhan and Prakash Raj (in Duet Movies).

Ajith in ‘Siruthai’ Siva’s next

Director Siva Kumar, popularly known as ‘Siruthai’ Siva, after the success of the film by the same name, starring Karthi, is onto another big league film. Having been roped in by Vijaya Productions for its founder, B. Nagi Reddy’s centenary year offering, Siva has been signing up actors for the yet-to-be-titled film. Ajith Kumar, who is currently completing director Vishnuvardhan’s Valai, is expected to start shooting for Siva sometime in April. Siva’s film has Tamannaah in the lead with Santhanam providing the humour quotient. A recent addition to the cast is Munish.
