The famous and ancient Sita Ramanjaneya Swamy temple behind the bus stand in Shamshabad wore a festive look during this past week with hundreds of devotees and artistes in traditional attire complete with a headgear assembled at the temple precincts. A short while later stars too descended revealing that the festivity was part of a film shoot for Sri Venkateswara Creations, Brindavanam starring NTR Jr., Kajal Agarwal and Samantha. Art director Ananda Sai and his assistants created a set with huge sized elephant heads plastered to the make shift temple walls along with orange coloured festoons. The sprawling grounds in front of the temple was filled with sand for the lead actors and the dancers in the guise of the villagers to place their steps to Taman Ghantasala's tune while the remote controlled crane mounted camera captured the scene. At a distance before the monitor screen sat the film's director Vamsy Pydipally (remember his debut film, Munna ), ace cinematographer Chota K. Naidu and choreographer Prem Rakshith, while the film's producer ‘Dil' Raju interacted with the unit members.

NTR in a white sports coat, white T shirt and blue jeans and Kajal Agarwal in a red half saree walked hand in hand towards the camera. Prakash Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao in whites and Srihari in a blue half shirt along with Brahmaji, Sana, Surekhavani and others joined them holding each others hand. The dancers in colourful costumes and headgears formed a backdrop as the song vachadura doosukochadura…theesukochadura sambaram written by Rama Jogiah Sastry was played on the nagara.

‘Dil' Raju said that about 36 major actors from Telugu film industry including Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Raghubabu and ‘Ahuti' Prasad are part of the cast and it is one of his most expensive films to date. Raju had made ten films earlier and many proved to be box office hits. His key to success is his dependence on the content more than on the combination. He says that NTR can carry any emotion with élan and the character he plays in the film showcases this ability in him. “He plays a city guy who goes to the village, meets the girl (Kajal) and the action begins. You will find a new NTR in this movie with a complete makeover both in looks and acting style. Srihari entertains with his wit while Prakash Raj is cast in a tough guy role.” He also said that the action scenes were shot in Badami in Karnataka and a song on the lead pair in Pollachi.

“Most of the film was shot in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. We have created a village set in a four acre plot near Miyapur to film the rural scenes. In the next schedule that commences in August we plan to shoot the remaining songs,” said Raju. He plans to release this ‘musical family entertainer' in September.
