Sonakshi Sinha’s looks may have earned her the reputation of being a beauty from the bygone era, but all her films till date have been set in the present era — be it Dabangg , Rowdy Rathore , Joker or Son Of Sardaar .

But now for the first time, Sonakshi is doing films that will take her back in time. Two of her upcoming films, Lootera and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again , are based in the past — while Lootera is set in the Bengal of the 1950s, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again is set in Mumbai of the late 1980s.

“I like going back in time because it is interesting to portray something I have not experienced,” says Sonakshi. The trailer of Once Upon … was recently unveiled in a set that replicated the Mumbai of the 1980s “It was not difficult to relive Mumbai of the Eighties because director Milan Luthria explained the story very well. It also helped me to get into the skin of the character I play.” While Lootera features Ranveer Singh, Once Upon A Time… , has two heroes Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan. Sonakshi plays an actress in the film, who is torn between gangsters played by Akshay and Imran. Since the film has a love triangle, Sonakshi says, “I am very lucky because I get to romance two good looking guys.”
