What’s common between South African cricketer Dale Steyn and actor Adam Sandler? Besides their love for each other’s countries, they are also acting together in the just released Hollywood movie Blended . Steyn, in India for the IPL, plays a cameo in this chick flick. We caught up with him for a quick chat.

What’s the first word that pops up in your brain when I sayBlended?

I can only say the one and only Adam Sandler.

Your role in a line...

I play a cricketer who is trying to bowl to a younger boy and I end up having an altercation with Sandler.

If you could bowl a maiden over, which Indian woman would it be?

It has to be to Deepika Padukone. She’s hot.

You are considered the world’s fastest bowler today. What’s the one thing you do slow?

I don’t fall asleep very easily. So I have to try and think of a lot of things, let it sink in that I am going to fall asleep. In other words, sleeping is the thing I do slowest.

What’s the one thing you absolutely love about your celebrity status?

Coming to India. Nowhere else in the world are you treated like a rockstar or a king.

Be it while ordering food or on the streets. Everyone showers love and attention, which I completely miss back home. There I am just a normal person.

What’s the craziest profession of love you’ve received from your female fans?

I’ve had this one woman who would constantly tweet me. In fact, I recently had my Justin Bieber moment the other day, when I was walking out from the hotel and she saw me and started crying. I had to, like, stay back to make sure she was okay. She would not just stop crying.

A chick flick that you secretly love to watch?

I love watching Notting Hill . It never tires me.
