Rajendra Prasad is back at his home turf – humour. The versatile actor after receiving kudos for his performance in a couple of serious roles, is returning to regale the audience with his inimitable comic acting in the upcoming, Cinemakeldam…Randi directed by debutante M.M.G. Reddy. “It is not a movie about movies or has a story with a film industry backdrop,” says Reddy. “It is an out and out entertainer in the genre of a Rajendra Prasad family drama with a novel screenwriting. There are villains and there is action. The hero's family has fell victim to the villains plotting and he seeks revenge. He will not resort to fist fights. How he along with his younger brother achieves the goal leaves the cine goers in splits. You have entertainment, entertainment and entertainment all the way,” he guffaws.

Mallidi Mohana Gandhi Reddy had not worked under any director before. But he was closely associated with the industry for over two decades now. “I started my career with veteran writer Sathyamurthy and picked up the nuances of screen writing from him. In fact he is the inspiration for me to turn a director today,” says Reddy. Later his association with S.V. Krishna Reddy, V.V. Vinayak, Surender Reddy and Ravikumar Chowdhary and participating in their story discussions further gave a boost to his wish to become a filmmaker. “Earlier I was also associated with film production with my brother Mallidi Sathyanarayana Reddy who had produced such hits as – Bunny , Bhageeratha and Dhee , informed Reddy.

There is no conventional heroine in Cinemakeldam…Randi . “Rachana Mourya plays one of the pivotal characters besides sharing screen space with Rajendra Prasad in two song sequences.” Bharath is playing the younger brother of Rajendra Prasad. “There is an episode on Yamaloka. RP plays Yama and Bharath, the laptop carrying Chitragupta. It is one of the highlights of the movie. The villains are Ravibabu, Nagineedu who plays his elder brother and Rajeev Kanakala. Asha Saini nee Mayuri appears in a special song. We shot most of the film at Ramanaidu Studios, Vizag and in the suburbs of Hyderabad. We have four songs and tops the list is the remix song, Sivasankari… from the NTR starrer Jagadekaveerudu shot on M.S. Narayana. In our film too there is a situation akin to that, though it is in light banter,” Reddy defends the usage of the popular song.

The slapstick comedy produced by Sunitha Prabhakar and Seetha Nekkanti is slated for release in mid June.
