Cheran entertains. But he also makes the audience think. The ace Tamil director is making his first Telugu movie for ‘Sravanthi’ Ravikishore based on a contemporary theme. The unit is in a private house in Jubilee Hills to film a song sequence on the lead pair – Sarwanand and Nithya Menen.
As you step into the main hall, you find yourself entering a library with well-stacked bookshelves, tables and chairs for readers.
Even as you marvel at the simple but seemingly authentic set, you take a liking towards the realistic way the song is being filmed by Cheran.
“It is a wonderful subject on par with our previous hits. There is a beautiful message intricately woven into this youthful entertainer. Nowhere does the audience feel that they are subjected to a lecture but at the same time the message is conveyed to them.
‘The parents take utmost care and responsibility in bringing you up and grooming you at every stage of your life, but how much responsibility are you shouldering about them. Not when you get old, but when you are still young, what care you are taking about your parents is the question.’ It is directly conveyed through the hero’s character. Though there are other important characters (Prakash Raj, Raja Krishnamurthy who plays Sarwanand’s father) in the movie, basically the story revolves around the lead pair – Sarwanand and Nithya Menen. She is the tool and helps Sarwanand in what he wishes to achieve.
Meaningful theme
A meaningful theme with light banter intact,” smiled Ravikishore.
The project came up rather unexpectedly for the soft spoken producer of over 35 films of which many were hits. “After watching his performance in the Tamil movie, Engeyum Eppodum (dubbed as Journey by Suresh Kondeti into Telugu) Cheran wanted to do a film in Tamil with my nephew Sarwanand. When my nephew told me about this, I said I will produce its Telugu version,” he said. The Tamil version, made simultaneously is titled as JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai (A friend named JK’s life).
Ravikishore has a word of praise for G.V. Prakash Kumar’s music and Anantha Sriram’s soul stirring lyrics. “His lyrics are excellent.” He is planning to hold the audio release function in the third week of October.
“The title holds lot of meaning and to know what magic the movie holds, one has to see the movie on the big screen.”
Yemito Ee Maaya will hit the marquee in November.
