Rasi and Rajendra prasad

It is by a sheer coincidence that the two met at a restaurant. They have known each other earlier, as the young man, an ad filmmaker, had been a tenant in the penthouse owned by the young woman’s brother. The boy invites her to have a cup of coffee with him and she obliges. It is just a friendly meeting, minus any vibes as yet. The restaurant is partitioned into cubicles for privacy. The two share a yellow cubicle and had fun overhearing to a romantic conversation between young couple from the next cubicle. This scene is shot by cinematographer Jaswanth under the guidance of director Arun Prasad at the BBQ3 restaurant in Kavuri Hills, Hyderabad. Sagar plays the young ad filmmaker while Mrudula Sathe enacts the part of the young woman.

“Sagar is debuting as a movie hero. The mega television serial, Mogalirekulu , made him a household name. Not many know that he is also a good dancer and at ease in action sequences too. On the small screen he is mostly seen in serious roles. In contrast he showcases his prowess as a complete actor proving his worth in light hearted as well as in action scenes. Mrudula Sathe has earlier acted in a Telugu – Hindi bilingual ( Love 4 Ever ). She is cast as a dentist.

Rajendra Prasad has a vital role too, as the heroine’s brother.Rasi returns to the big screen after a long hiatus. She is paired with Rajendra Prasad. Hema is the cook in their house and the scenes between the three bring the house down,” said Arun Prasad who made his debut with the Pawan Kalyan starrer, Thammudu. He later became a successful director in Kannada cinema as well.

An interesting point, he says, is that at first the hero and the heroine, despite living in the same compound, have no attraction towards each other. “How friendship turns into love between them is narrated from a fresh angle.” Perhaps in a first of its kind in Telugu cinema, the story and screenplay are written by the producer’s daughters – Madhavi and Madhuri. Though it is his first production, producer B. Satyanarayana has a rich experience of over three decades in film industry as a financier and a distributor.

“John Kuken, an actor from Goa, is playing the villain. We hired an opulent bungalow with penthouse in Jubilee hills to film major scenes. The comedy of errors leads the two protagonists – Sagar and Rajendra Prasad even to jail. We shot those scenes in about half a dozen locations. The central theme revolves around Sagar who uses every situation and person to his advantage leading to total hilarity. We have completed 60 per cent of the talkie part and plans are afoot to shoot the duets in Europe. We will announce the title during the next schedule,” said Arun Prasad.

The movie is slated for release in September.
