After playing varied roles in between, Srikanth returns to the action genre in this untitled movie directed by N. Seetha Rama Prasad, the shooting for which took place last week at Puppalaguda located in the fast growing Hyderabad suburb, Manikonda. Present on location were the lead stars Srikanth and Aksha and a bunch of stunt actors playing the role of the villain's henchmen. Ace stunts director Ravi Varma choreographed the action block shot by cinematographer Rahul who has graduated with this movie from an operative cameraman to the director of cinematography. Interestingly, both Ravi Varma and hero Srikanth completed 100 films in their career.
“The heroine is chased by the villain's gang and the hero rescues her. Caught in a life threatening situation, she engages a criminal to eliminate the criminal who had threatened to kill her. It is like cutting a diamond with a diamond or as we say, mullunu mullu thone thiyyali,” smiled Prasad as he gave an insight into the action block that he had just shot on the deserted streets of Puppalaguda. While Srikanth is playing the criminal who is engaged by Aksha to save her, Rehman is cast as the villain who wants to eliminate the girl for his own ulterior motives. “How she meets the hero with a criminal past and how she made him agree to help her, and the subsequent events travel with fast paced narrative. His is a totally mass oriented character. Aksha too has a performance oriented role. Strong story based films have always succeeded at the box office. Ours is a subject driven movie,” disclosed Prasad who had earlier made that critically acclaimed movie, Nireekshana for Suresh banner. Prasad is a postgraduate in philosophy from Andhra University and hails from an agricultural family in Rajahmundry. “But movies was my passion and instead of opting for a career as an academician or an agriculturist I entered cinema,” he guffaws.
Producer V.S. Rami Reddy will be shortly taking his unit to Bangkok to film the remaining scenes and a couple of songs on the lead pair. “We will shortly announce the title. I can assure you wholesome entertainment for little over two hours with intelligent an intriguing narrative,” said Prasad before calling the unit for a pack up. Giribabu, Brahmanandam, Raghubabu, Venumadhav, Jackie, Prabhakar and Duvvasi Mohan are in the cast. The movie is slated for release in August.
