Haridas

What it is about…

Director GNR Kumaravelan’s Haridas is about the bond between a father and son. The audio of the film was launched in a gala manner in Chennai. The movie, starring Kishore, Sneha and ‘Parotta’ Suri, has cinematography by Rathnavelu. Annamalai has penned the lyrics, while Vijay Antony has scored the music. The first audio CD was released by director Bala and received by actor Vikram in the presence of veteran filmmakers Balu Mahendra and K. Bhagyaraj, actor Prasanna and the whole unit of the movie.

Music highlights

The album consists of four songs of which the best is ‘Vazhkaiye,’ sung by Usha Uthup and Shakti Sree Gopalan. Prabhu Pandala has rendered the peppy number, ‘Police.’ ‘Annaiyan Karuvil,’ sung by Shankar Mahadevan, stands out for its lyrics. ‘Vellakuthira,’ sung by Ramani Ammal, is another good number.

What they say…

Producer Dr. V. Ramadoss: I am an NRI who got into film production recently. When I listened to the storyline of Haridas , it moved me. I am sure it will strike a chord with filmgoers.

Director GNR Kumaravelan: The film has emotion, sentiment and entertainment mixed in the right proportion. For every child, his father is the hero. I have shown the various shades of emotions through the characters of Kishore and Sneha. I think I have a winner on my hands.

Hero Kishore: An actor can prove his mettle only if the character he essays is powerful. I have got one such in Haridas. When the director called me over and narrated the story to me, I was not only happy but also started doing my homework. The screenplay and the characterisation have made shooting for the movie a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Music director Vijay Antony: When you work with the same director on two films, you know what his expectations are. This is my third film with director Kumaravelan (after Ninaithale Inikkum and Yuvan Yuvathy ). Not only the songs but also the re-recording have come out well.
