What it is about…

Think Big Productions’ Vettri is a love story with a difference. Directed by Parthipan C, who is also in charge of the story, screenplay and dialogue, the film features Ratesh Mano, Arundhathi, Seetha, ‘Aadukalam’ Naren, Ravi Prakash, Sivakumar and Sanjana. The audio of the film was released by playback singer Mano and received by producer P. L. Thenappan and actors Prasanna and Sneha in the presence of directors R.V. Udhayakumar and Sekar.

Music highlights

The album consists of six songs. ‘Podu Kuthattam Podu,’ penned by Na. Annamalai and sung by Rahul Nambiar and Hemambika, rocks. The other good numbers are ‘Uyiriley Uyiriley,’ written by Na. Muthukumar and sung by Haricharan and Ranina Reddy, ‘Kannal Pesum,’ written by S.S. Kannan and sung by Ranjith and Hemambika, ‘Etho Kural Azhaikkirathe,’ written by the director and rendered by the music director, and ‘Jali Takkaru’ written by Na. Annamalai and sung by Mano. ‘Munnooru Naal Sumanthu,’ sung by Madhu Balakrishnan, stands out for its lyrics by Barathakumar A.

What they say…

Producer D. Sathish Kumar: I am in the share market business. When I heard the story, I got interested in backing the film. I pray for its success and would like to give 50 per cent of the profit to all those involved in it. Director Parthiban C: I have worked as an associate to director Maharajan and a few others. As the producer is a meticulous planner, he announced the release of the film even before we went ahead with the shoot How success can be achieved through planning is told in the film.

Hero Ratesh Mano: I am playback singer Mano’s son. I was badly injured in a bike accident last November. So though I had committed myself to playing the lead in this film, I had my doubts whether I could pull it off. But the director and producer did not go back on their word and encouraged me to work in the film. I must thank both of them. I am an ardent fan of my father and when I came to know that he was lending his voice to a song picturised on me, my joy knew no bounds.

Music director Srisai V.V.: I have scored the music for Kathikkappal, Vettatam, Mayavaram and now Vettri . Four more films are in the pipeline When the director asked me to score the music for Vettri, I happily took it up as I found the story very interesting.
