Kunchacko Boban and Biju Menon are the two actors in the driver's seat of ‘Ordinary,' a film directed by debutant Sugeeth. Dressed in khaki uniforms, Kunchacko Boban and Biju look at ease in their roles of a bus conductor (Eravi Kuttan Pillai) and driver (Sukumaran), respectively. They are deep in discussion near a nondescript bus parked at a corner of the Pathanamthitta bus stand, the location for the day.

Picturesque location

“The story unfolds in a picturesque village called Gavi. This KSRTC bus connects Gavi to Pathanamthitta town,” says Sugeeth, a former assistant of Kamal's. Asif Ali enacts Bhadran, an honest guy working as a dam operator in Gavi. The film's heroines are Ann Augustine, who plays Anna, a post woman, and Shritha who plays Kalyani. “The movie has romance and some twists and turns to the plot. That is all that we can reveal about the storyline now,” says the director.

Cinematographer Faisal Ali is going for a trolley shot as Kunchacko Boban is in conversation with comedian Dharmajan Bolghatty for the next sequence. Shritha, who is acting as a woman who is working hard to raise money for her own marriage, is getting ready for the next shot.

Kunchacko Boban is all smiles while talking about his character in the movie: “My character is uncomfortable with his name, but then even my name is rather unconventional for an actor. In the story, he usually calls himself E. Ravi. He was not keen on becoming a bus conductor as he was the local leader of a political outfit in his area. His life takes some unprecedented turns during his trips between Gavi and Pathanamthitta.”

Biju Menon, who has been doing more roles with a humorous tone after the success of films such as ‘Marykkundoru Kunjaadu' and ‘Seniors,' finds the experience of shooting for the role, a novelty.

‘Ordinary' is being produced by Rajeev Nair. Music director is Vidyasagar. The cast includes Jishnu, Lalu Alex, Baburaj and Salim Kumar. Still photography is by Sinat Savier.
