My First Break: Neelima

How it happened

Introduced as a child artist in Devar Magan, I've been working from the age of 6 in the film industry. As a child, I've done over a dozen films in Tamil and Telugu. When I was 12, I acted in Virumbugirein, a Tamil film directed by Susi Ganesan. Simultaneously, I got offers from the small screen. “Acham Madam Nanam-Brindhavanam”, produced by actor Mohan, marked my television debut.

How it felt

Chinni Thali, where I played the titular role (Chinni) when I was nine, fetched me the Nandi Award from the Andhra Pradesh Government. When I saw myself on the screen playing the protagonist, I was thrilled. The same was the case with my Tamil film Virumbugirein. After that I have acted in a number of Tamil films, including Mozhi.

How life changed

It is yet to change. I entered the industry with the hope of showcasing my talent. The films I have done so far have not enabled me to display my full potential as an actor. My recent film is Pugaipadam.I am eagerly awaiting the release of Nan Magan Alla, directed by Susindren of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhufame, where I have a good role — I feel it will prove to be a turning point in my career. I'm glad my roles in the on-going serials such as “Chellame” and “Thendral” on Sun and “Anu Alavum Bayamillai” on Vijay are much appreciated.
