How it happened

I met director Meera Kadhiravan at the Kancheepuram Kamakshi temple, and he wanted me play Thamizharasi in his film Aval Peyar Thamizharasi. I was surprised. I was game for acting, but my parents and family were not. But, I managed to convince them.

How it felt

I was very happy to see myself on the big screen, at the preview in Four Frames, along with the director and others. As the film progressed, I recollected every shot. In fact, at many places, I couldn’t believe it was me on the screen! Though Thamizharasi is totally different from me, I liked that character. My director told me Thamizharasi has shaped up exactly the way he had pictured her.

How life changed

Not much. I’m in Class XII now, and my focus in on completing my studies. Nearly a dozen scripts have come my way, and I’m about to finalise two. My first film gave me a grand opening, as it was screened at various international film festivals. So, choosing the second film is important — it must take me to the next stage.
