Hollywood superstar Matt Damon will be honoured with a life time achievement award for his contribution in the world of cinema.
The 38-year-old Oscar winner, who is known for movies like ‘Saving Private Ryan’, ‘The Goodwill Hunting’, ‘The Bourne series’ and ‘The Departed’, will be awarded by American Cinematheque in 2010, the Variety reported.
The Hollywood star will reportedly accept the honour in person at a ceremony to be broadcast on March 27 on ABC.
The other Hollywood stars, who have received the award in the past include Al Pacino, Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Samuel L Jackson.
Damon will be next seen onscreen in the much awaited movie ‘The Informant!’ where he plays the character of a whistleblower.
Damon, who gained 40 pounds for his role, will play Mark Whitacre, a vice-president who turns against his own company after discovering its price fixing scheme in the movie, inspired by a true story.
