What it is about…
Rethna Films’ Chutti Killadigal, directed by Ravi Thambi, is produced by Rethna Ramesh. Rethna, incidentally, also plays the lead. There are three heroines in the movie — Saranya, Reshma and Sakthi. Jai Sanjay plays the villain. The other characters are essayed by ‘Nellai’ Siva, Shankar and Rajendranath. While the music is scored by A.S. Naga, the camera is handled by Ravi and editing by Durairaj. The screenplay, dialogue and direction are by Ravi Thambi. The story is about how the antics of three little girls land them in trouble and how a young man comes to their rescue. The audio of the film was recently released by actor Charu Haasan and received by T.P. Gajendran and Vadivukarasi.
Music highlights
There are five songs in the album and ‘Uyirukkulle En Uyirukkulle,’ sung by Jagan Kalyan and Udhayalakshmi Nagarajan, is the best. While ‘Chuttippillaigalae,’ sung by K.K. Karna and Jagan Kalyan, and ‘Kannile Un Kannilae,’ sung by Jagan Kalyan and Udhayalakshmi Nagarajan, are fairly interesting, ‘Naattusarakku Nanada,’ sung by Devi Sivaraj, and ‘Ala Sola’ by A. Dhanalakshmi, Keerthana, J.K.B. Pavithra pass muster.

Producer and hero Rethna Ramesh: I’ve earlier acted in director Ravi Thambi’s Vachathi . When he narrated this light-hearted love story, I was keen to produce it. The director wanted me to don the hero’s role to which I agreed after considerable persuasion. The film is an out-and-out entertainer.
Director Ravi Thambi: I’ve done a number of films in Tamil and Malayalam but it was Vachathi that propelled me into the limelight. I’m now busy with two Tamil films. When Rethna Ramesh heard the story of Chutti Killadigal , he immediately asked me to pen the script. I am sure the message the film conveys will go down well with the audience.
Music director E.S. Naga: I am basically a stage performer and my troupe Vande Matharam has performed in Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country. When the producer gave me a break, I was thrilled and took extra care to ensure he was satisfied with my work. Chutti Killadigal has all the ingredients that could make it a box office success.
