Getting experimental

Impressive performances in Pollathavan , Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and the recent Porkkalam have helped Kishore come across as a serious, intense actor. But, all Kishore wants to do is experiment. “I love aggressive / intensive portrayals as they create an impact on the audience. But, I am keen on exploring explore lighter roles too. Right now, I am reading various scripts. I am happy that my role in Porkkalam has gone down well with my fans and the audience in general.”

Two's company

Aditya Anbu (last seen in Thambuvudayan ) and Devika ( Valmiki and the under-production Nellai Santhippu ) play the lead in Jayamundu Bayamillai . Priyanka from the Kannada film industry does an important role. The triangular love story set in a medical college has Devika and Priyanka trying to grab the attention of Aditya. The hero, obviously, has to choose one. What happens to the other girl? Untangling this web is director P.C. Balu who is also credited with the story, screenplay and dialogues.

Busy bee

Between going to college and shooting for Veerasekaran , Kerala lass Amala Paul has kept herself really busy. And, director Sathisukumar is quite happy with her performance. What's next? Malayalam films?

Awards galore

It's windfall time for the South Indian film industry, particularly Kollywood, with Ilaiyaraja, A.R. Rahman and Resul Pookutty being recognised by the Government with the Padma awards. That two music directors from Kollywood were awarded the Padma Bhushan goes to show how much our music has transcended barriers.
