Lifting weights and working out was a piece of cake for Twilight star Taylor Lautner. The teen heart throb says the worst part about bulking up for his role as Jacob Black in New Moon was all the eating he had to do. “The hardest part was actually eating a lot of good foods and cutting out all of the fat foods. It was about always putting something in your mouth. Every two hours, I always had to have something. So, that was the most difficult part for me, for sure. I knew what I had to do and that’s what I did. I stayed focussed, and it all worked out well.”
Although he plays an action hero, Robert Downey Jr never raises his fists in real life because he is too small to start a fight. Robert says his role in Sherlock Holmes has given him the chance to square up to men he would never dream of challenging — guys much bigger than him. “ Sherlock Holmes has about five major action sequences and unless there was something that was hair-raisingly inappropriate for me to attempt I did all my own stuff. I love it because I am a martial arts guy and I love getting in there. I don’t want to give anything away but I go toe-to-toe with some people I have no business messing with.”
‘No dieting, please’
Christina Aguilera is relying on bedtime workouts to get back in shape after pregnancy because she can’t stop eating. The sexy singer is slowly getting back into shape following the birth of baby son Max 19 months ago but she’s not making it easy for herself. “I don’t diet because I can’t,” explains Christina. “I love my food too much. I can’t even cut down on carbs because that’s so hard for me. So I eat what I like and make sure I work out for an hour when Max goes to bed. It’s hard but it works for me.”
No Blooming bride yet
Aussie beauty Miranda Kerr has put the record straight on her reported engagement to Brit actor Orlando Bloom. The catwalk stunner is amazed by the rumours about her love life and has hit back at the talk of wedding bells for her and her Pirates of the Caribbean beau. “It’s not true,” says Miranda. “It’s great there’s all that interest in our relationship but we’re not engaged.” And Miranda has been quick to dispel any new rumours that she and Bloom are having issues with their relationship. “We’re very happy. He’s a great guy,” she says.
Ledger lives on
Former Monty Python Terry Gilliam is predicting audiences will fall in love with the late Heath Ledger all over again despite his last role as a serial killer. Gilliam, who directed Ledger in The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, says the Aussie actor has left a lasting mark of his character with the wacky movie which was completed with the help of Johnny Depp, Colin Farell and Jude Law standing in for tragic Heath. “The thing with Heath is he could play the most unsympathetic character yet you still love him,” says Gilliam.
“He had genuine charm and a sweetness about him. Colin (Farrell) is a slightly darker character so that was a hard transition for him but he did it in the end. Heath could be the most horrible serial killer but you’d still love him.”
