Hangal’s condition worsens

Veteran actor A.K. Hangal’s condition worsened on Saturday, his son Vijay Hangal told reporters. The 95-year-old is critically ill at a private hospital in Mumbai.

“He is worse than he was yesterday[Friday]. He has stopped responding since today[Saturday] morning. We cannot bear to see his pain,” the actor’s son said .

The actor was admitted to the hospital on August 16 when he fractured a hip bone after slipping in the bathroom. “He is in a very bad condition. The surgeons advised against surgery. His kidneys are not functioning. He is in the intensive care unit and is on life support. He has been taken off ventilator support,” hospital’s director, admisitration, N.A. Mulla told The Hindu on the phone.
