Sathyapriya

After being a heroine, you now play insignificant character roles.

In today's cinema, when heroines are not being offered significant roles, how can you expect us to play powerful roles? I am lucky to do some good ones in films such as Goa , where director Venkat Prabhu has worked the screenplay to make my role important.

Can you mention some of your films that stood out because of your acting skills?

I have done over 300 films of which I've played the heroine in 50. Some of my memorable films are Roja, Basha, Puthiya Pathai ( which gave me a big second round in the field), Chinna Goundar and Solla Marantha Kathai — I've mentioned only the films where I was not the heroine.

Which do you like more — the big or the small screen?

Each has its advantages and disadvantages. All I can say is I want to remain in the film industry.

Have you achieved what you wanted here?

I may not be a big star, but I am appreciated by one and all. I feel that's an achievement.

What's Sathyapriya in real life like?

Friendly, lovable and kind- hearted.
