She has a reputation and a notorious one at that. With movies like Kamasutra 3D , and now Bad Girl on her resume, the actor is only building on the naughty image she has. But scratch beneath the surface and you find Sherlyn Chopra is just another girl having fun.
Having wrapped up Kamasutra 3D , Sherlyn is excited to begin work in her new movie Bad Girl next month. She clarifies: “ KS 3D is about love, respect and is a passionate love saga.” Sherlyn is excited about Bad Girl, the Malayalam movie directed by Shajiyem and will be dubbed in Telugu and Tamil. Sherlyn believes she was approached for the movie because of her association with Playboy magazine. “I did ask Shaji ‘why me, because I don’t speak a word of Malyalam’ and Shaji said emotion needs no language. In fact the director said I wasn’t ‘one of the options’, but ‘the only option’ for the role,” says Sherlyn.
Talk to her about her choices and she calls herself the child of western sexual revolution. “I am quite the wild girl when it comes to my sensuality which people look at as evil or of bad morals,” says Sherlyn. The actor-model has no qualms about talking of her age, sexuality and the body corrections she underwent. “That doesn’t mean that I would talk about my sexual preference, my age or the surgeries I have undergone at the drop of a hat. If I am questioned I don’t hide; that’s why I am misjudged,” she says candidly.
Hyderabad may be the city where she grew up, but she is honest enough to say it doesn’t bring back fond memories. But she does miss her family and the first thing she did after coming to the city was visit her father’s grave. “I spent a good amount of time alone with him and promised to be the person I always wanted to be and never do or indulge in anything that my soul doesn’t allow,” she reveals.
The model-actor always manages to be a cool, composed person. According to her, negativity only breeds negativity and there isn’t any need to add to negativity that already exists in the world. “As I get older, I want to focus on good things in my life.”
What about settling down in life? “You mean marriage? I’d love to have kids and be married to a human being who loves and respects me for who I am. Sex, religion, looks, caste and bank balance don’t matter to me.”
