Cinema should not be just an entertainment medium, but also a means of sending out socially relevant messages, said Dato M. Saravanan, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Malaysia, at the launch of the Tamil film 3 Geniuses (3G). Directed by P.K. Raj, 3G has three characters — Gautham, Ghani and Grace. “This is a science fiction movie and revolves around a scientist played by K. Bhagyaraj who discovers the three talented kids, raring to go with their knowledge of nano technology. Employing this technology, they come up with a gel that can be placed in a human being and used as embedded means of identification. A villainous group steals the formula and tries to use it for anti-social activities,” explains Raj.
Full of mystery
Forests not only provide greenery and the much-needed lung space in a vastly spreading concrete jungle, but also hold several mysteries. Director M.N. Krishnakumar has utilised both these aspects to script his story for the film Savarikkadu . “I have incorporated romance and comedy in equal measure while providing thrilling sequences. A lot of importance has also been given to friendship among the characters,” says Krishnakumar who is one of the main characters in the film. The cast also includes Ravindran, Rajapandi, Swati and Renu. Produced by the director’s banner The Annai Teresa Films, the film is in the final stages of post-production. The trailer of Savarikkadu is likely to be released in a few weeks.
