Director Ramprakash Rayappa, who co-directed Engeyum Eppodum, has come up with a unique title for his first independent venture — Tamizhukku En Ondrai Azhuthavum . It features Nakul, ( Attakathi ) Dinesh, Bindu Madhavi and Aishwarya Dutta in the lead roles. Says Nakul: “This is a film which has been exciting me ever since it went on the floors. The earnestness and enthusiasm of the director and the crew has been so infectious that I look forward to being on the sets every time we shoot. My pairing with Aishwarya Dutta from Calcutta is working wonders for the character I play. Dinesh and Bindu Madhavi form the other pair. I am even more thrilled working with Urvashi who plays my mother. Initially, I was in awe of her to the point of being nervous, but being a thorough professional, she put me at ease soon after we started the shoot.”
Spare a thought for women
K aadhal 2014 has just hit the screens and it is too early to expect the verdict, feels director Suganthan. “ Kaadhal 2014 is not really a love story, as the name suggests. I hope my efforts at underlining the importance of upholding the dignity of women pay off. Everyone knows that on days such as Valentine’s Day, girls are harassed by unscrupulous men. The idea behind making a movie like Kaadhal 2014 is to change people’s attitude towards women and ensure that there is harmony and love among humankind,” says Suganthan who has earlier worked with directors Cheran and R. Kannan. Kaadhal 2014 stars Harish ( Goripalayam ) and Megha in the lead.
Music to his ears
He has added music direction to the many facets of his career, with his forthcoming musical drama, Isai . Suryah plays the lead in addition to directing the film, which has Savithri as the heroine, while Sathyaraj plays an important role. The trailer of Isai has just been released. “I am excited about the five songs in Isai , especially because this is the first time I have composed the songs as well as the background music. I have also sung the title song and hope it becomes the theme song of the New Year. The overall feel of the film’s music is quite contemporary. I have used a lot of live instruments, and for one of the songs, I have recorded natural sounds like the chirping of birds,” says an excited Suryah. The songs of Isai will be released by mid-September and the film will hit the screens on October 2.
