Actor Haritha

Actor Haritha

Jananathan’s Peranmai was her debut film. Then Varsha Aswathi played an IPS officer in Neerparavai . In the forthcoming Jiiva-Trisha-starrer Endrendrum Punnagai , Varsha is paired with Vinay, and director James David’s Panivizhum Malarvanam has her doing action scenes. What’s next? “Now, I am excited to have signed producer D. Ramanaidu’s next Telugu film for director Suresh. Suresh Productions has been credited with turning many new faces into stars. I hope this film will take me to great heights too,” says Varsha.

Ghost story

Son of director-actor Firose Khan, Yuvan grew up watching movies and dancing to film songs. Last seen in Sattai , Yuvan has earlier acted in a few notable movies such as Pasakkara Nanbargal . While he is awaiting the release of Keeripulla and Sogusu Perunthu Nilayam , he is about to start shooting for Kanthari . Directed by K. M. Kumar, the story is written by the producer, Poovani Bala. Issaa from Mumbai and Prithiksha Mythily are being introduced as heroines in Kanthari . “I play a simpleton who gets carried away by the advances of a girl. We eventually fall in love but there are a lot of objections from our families. So, we run away and take shelter in an uninhabited house,” says Yuvan. They are unaware that the house is haunted by the spirit of a girl which is waiting to avenge her and her family’s death. “I am possessed by the spirit and I take on a different avatar of the girl, Kanthari,” says Yuvan. What follows forms the crux of the film.

Not in a hurry

She is not in a hurry. Even as a high school student, she decided what she did would be the best. “At least, intellectually satisfying to me. That’s how I got drawn to playing the role in the upcoming Kurai Ondrum Illai. It’s that of a doctor, a perfectionist,” says Haritha. She waited for a while before the next film happened. Producer Ravinder Chandrashekar’s debut directorial venture I-na is what’s keeping Haritha excited, these days. “I can’t reveal much about the character or the film as it has just been announced, except that I play a conservative girl from Coimbatore. I was thrilled when Ravinder narrated the script to me and even more excited that my co-star is theatre and film actor Karthik Kumar,” says Haritha.

A thriller again

Producer C. V. Kumar (Thiru Kumaran Enertainment), who made the sleeper hit Pizza , has entered into a joint venture with K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green Productions to produce Pizza 2 — The Villa . This is expected to be a thriller with Deepan Chakravarthy wielding the megaphone. Deepan, an IT professional, is a finalist on the Nalaiya Iyakkunar Season 2 show. Says Kumar: “ Pizza 2 — The Villa is not a sequel. It is a series in the same genre as the first. It is a thriller like Pizza, but there is no similarity to the first film. In fact, that is one of the reasons we are making the film with a totally different cast and crew. It is the success of the first that has spurred me on to make Pizza 2 — The Villa .”
