After Aasal in 2010, we have seen little from director Saran. But this is a man known to take his time with screenplay, as he believes in perfecting every aspect of a project before starting a shoot. His next film, Aayirathil Iruvar , has been in the making for a while now but, finally, Saran is all set to complete the final schedule in Tirunelveli.
“Though it’s a village-based subject, there are sequences shot in Hyderabad, Bangkok and Dubai, according to the requirements of the screenplay,” says Saran.
Aayirathil Iruvar features Vinay Rai in a dual role, with both twins at loggerheads with their mother, played by Sana (Rajapattai). “It is revealed that even before they were born, there was this conflict between them and their mother, which gets magnified as they grow up. Consequently, there is a lot of hatred between the mother and sons. Besides Sana, there are Rithika ( Vazhakku Enn 18/9 ) and Kajal Pasupathi ( Mounaguru ) in important roles,” says Saran.
Vinay has three lissom lasses for company in the film. “I have cast three new faces — Samuthrika (from Dehradun), Swastika (from Bangalore) and Kesha (from Mumbai) as heroines and these roles are very crucial to the screenplay. The core subject of Aayiratil Iruvar is about money laundering and hawala. But the movie will overall be a humorous entertainer,” says Saran, who hopes to complete the current schedule soon and get the first copy ready by September. “Meanwhile, I have named my next film Aal, Ambu, Senai and will start work on it once Aayirathil Iruvar is ready for release,” he says.
