For the first time a film unit from India went to Hokkaido, the second largest island in Japan, to shoot a song sequence. ‘Sravanthi’ Ravikishore and his unit helmed by director Vijayabhaskar were in the picturesque island to shoot a duet on Venkatesh and Anjali for their forthcoming movie, Masala, choreographed by Johnny master.

“It busy but organised capital Sapporo, its unspoiled nature, ski and hot spring resorts, lavender and flower gardens, national parks and the beautiful lakes offered an ideal location to film a peppy duet. It is a hitherto unexplored location for Indian filmmakers and we are happy to show these exotic places to our audience,” says producer Ravikishore. The unit was there from September 2 to 9. Incidentally the shooting part was also completed with the filming of this song. Earlier a duet was shot on Ram and Shazahn in Thailand.

A remake of the Bollywood hit, Bol Bachchan, the multi-starrer stars Venkatesh and Ram as lead actors reprising the characters enacted by Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in the original version. Anjali and Shazahn Padamsee are cast in the female leads. Venkatesh plays the role of a moustache-twirling, strongman of a village and Ram enters the village with his sister after losing his property to vested interests in the city. “These incidents lead to an engrossing and entertaining climax,” smiles Ravikishore.

His production house had earlier joined hands with one of industry’s top banner, Suresh Productions for the big hit, Nuvvu Naaku Nachchav. “It was a solo hero movie with Venkatesh playing the lead. Now Ram joins him to make the joint venture even grander. Suresh Babu liked the Hindi version so much that he wished to remake it in Telugu with Venkatesh and Ram in the lead. I too felt it would turn into a big hit in Telugu as well and we decided to make it as a joint venture. We brought in many changes in the script to make it more entertaining. I am confident that this film will take director Vijayabhaskar to the peak once again. Anil Ravipudi’s witty and gritty dialogues need special mention. The young writer worked as assistant dialogue writer for Kandireega and other films,” says Ravikishore. The action scenes are a treat to watch and Ram underwent special training in Karate for the purpose. “The audio release function is on October 13 and we have plans to release the movie in the last week of October,” the ace producer signs off. The entertainer also stars Jayaprakash Reddy, M.S. Narayana and Ali.
