What it is about…

Agaram Productions’ Yasakhan is produced by Santhosh Pandian and written and directed by Thuraivanan. How a young man faces various atrocities in society and how they change him is shown in an interesting way in Yasakhan . The cast includes “Angadi Theru” Mahesh, Niranjana, Janaki, Jayachandran and Samuel Chandran. V. Babu has handled the camera; Satish Chakravarthy has scored the music; and Raja Mohammed has done the editing. The audio CD was recently released by director Ameer and received by director-actor Sasi Kumar.

Music highlights

There are five songs in the album. 'Kannadi Maname' sung by Haricharan is the best. Its lyrics by Arivumathi appeal. Bela Shende has sung another interesting song, ‘Poo Poothathum Nee Parthathum,' written by Yugabharathi. The same lyricist’s ‘Senthazham Poove' is sung by Gayathri and Kunal Kanjavala. 'Urangi Kidakkum Madurakulla' written by Gangai Amaren and sung by Mukesh and Aasha is pleasant. 'Eendra Undhan Nenjathil' written and sung by the music director wraps up the album.

What they say…

Producer Santhosh Pandian: I am an engineer and an ardent fan of cinema. I come from Madurai. I have done a lot of community service as a Lion's Club member. The storyline of Yasakhan made me want to produce it and I must say the screenplay has taken the film to a different level. Once the film was done, a friend of mine, Ilango, who saw it, came forward to buy it and release it. Doesn’t this show how interesting the film is?

Director Thuraivanan: I worked as an associate to director Ameer ( Ra and Mounam Pesiyathe ) and director-actor Sasi Kumar ( Subramaniapuram) . I’m happy to be able to convey a social message through my first film.

Hero Mahesh: The much-acclaimed Angadi Theru marked my debut. I am at present working on three films. Yasakhan has an arresting screenplay and a social message. I am thankful to the director for giving me a powerful role so early in my career.

Music director Sathish Chakravarthy: I worked under A.R. Rahman. I composed the soundtrack for Leelai and Kanimozhi . When director Thuraivanan told me the story of Yasakhan , I got interested in taking up the project. All those who have seen the film have appreciated my work.
